First Inaugural
Dr. Art Bruneau
Golf Tournament
Fundraiser
August 12, 2009
In April, 1992 an ad hoc committee met to discuss the future of planning for the
development of a golf course on the NC State Centennial Campus. The vision was that
it would have research, outreach and recreational opportunities as well as be an
amenity for the university. In July, 2007 this 15 year-old dream became a reality
when golf legend Arnold Palmer toured the site and construction began. A lot has
progressed in the past 2 years, but not without a monumental effort by a dedicated
group of people.
At long last, and with a great sense of pride - we are able to acknowledge the hard
work and dedication of Dr. Bruneau during the Lonnie Poole Golf Course's inaugural
year. Please plan to come play during the First Annual Dr. Art Bruneau Golf Tournament
Fundraiser. Proceeds to benefit the North Carolina Turfgrass Foundation.
