Ms. Silcox graduated in May 2008 with a B.A. in zoology from Miami University. In May 2008 she started her Master’s work under William Neal Reynolds Professor, Dr. Rick Brandenburg in the entomology department.
She is studying mole crickets and their behavior towards treated areas. Previous research has indicated a modified behavior by mole crickets to treated areas. Her work explores this behavior in detail in the hopes to enable the development of better control practices for one of turf’s most tenacious insect pests.
