Adult Fall ArmywormIt is now the fourth week in October and fall armyworms are still a major problem so don't let your guard down.  The continuing hot weather still encourages feeding, growth and ultimately serious turf damage.  Make sure to watch for birds on turf as they may be feeding on the fall armyworms.  Use soapy water flush described below to locate the worms.  Do not allow yourself to be caught off guard by this pest!  Check all areas at least once a week.   We are seeing quite a few of them in all turf settings this October.  NEW SOD AND NEWLY SEEDED AREAS ARE REALLY GETTING HIT HARD AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UNTIL WE GET A FROST.
