The recent heavy rains have resulted in the emergence of fire ant mounds on a massive scale. This is not unusual and was enhanced by the dry weather that preceded the heavy rains. It’s not too late to treat. While day time temps are in the 70s and the weather is sunny and dry you can still get control of fire ants with recommended products including the use of baits. But the clock is ticking on the days left for good control. What you don't get this fall will be waiting to greet you in the spring.
