Golf Maintenance Internship at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, PA

Saucon Valley Country Club was founded in 1920. It lies nestled in the Lehigh Valley an hour north of Philadelphia and slightly more than an hour west of New York City. Over time, the club has grown from 18 holes and a clubhouse to one of the largest private clubs in North America. Today, three outstanding championship golf courses, a 6-hole junior course, tennis, squash, platform tennis, swimming pools, fine dining facilities, and an 18th-century guesthouse encompass 800 acres. Host to numerous past major golf events, the Old Course has recently been selected as the Venue for the 2022 USGA Men’s Senior US Open. The club is also designated a Platinum Club of America, A Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and winner of several renovation and environmental awards.

Saucon Valley Country Club is dedicated to providing students with a comprehensive internship, and is looking for dedicated and motivated individuals who want to excel in the golf course industry. Interns will be exposed to all aspects of golf course maintenance and construction at a multiple course facility, preparing them for a successful future. Currently, Saucon Valley Country Club is filling Internship positions in the Golf Maintenance Department. Interested individuals should be punctual, motivated, and responsible; possess a strong work ethic and a desire to work in a great environment, and be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.

Interns assist with the daily care and maintenance of the golf courses and grounds. Interns will be responsible to perform skilled grounds maintenance including water management, chemical & fertilizer applications. The internship program also includes crew management and an opportunity to progress throughout the season. This position will involve the operation of some motorized equipment as well. Some basic duties include mowing of greens, tees, fairways and rough, bunker maintenance etc.

Skills interns should, but are not required, to have knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools, time management skills, and the ability to work well independently and on a team. On the job training is provided during work in a fast paced environment. Show a strong sense of urgency and have a strong desire to learn, as paying attention to detail is very important. Prior golf course management experience is not essential, however a good, positive attitude is. Full time employment opportunities are available after graduation.

Candidates must be available for weekday, weekend and holiday hours throughout their internship, while being extremely flexible and dependable throughout their time here.
