In 2022 and 2023, we maintained turf insect trapping sites to monitor adult and caterpillar activity, narrowing our application timing recommendations and making them specific to particular counties or regions in North Carolina. From this data, we have created pest tracking graphs and provided complete tracking data for each insect and each county on NC Turf Bugs (2022, 2023). We are currently monitoring for Japanese beetles, black cutworms and fall armyworms and will update the pest tracking maps for this year as we find these insects at our trapping locations.
